What’s Included:

1. Real-time Lidar and Camera Integration for Autonomous Navigation using MATLAB

Orkeny Zovathi, Application Engineer at SciEngineer

Session description:

Lidar and Camera sensors are highly effective for autonomous systems due to their complementary capabilities: Lidars provide precise distance measurements, while cameras offer rich visual data understand the environment.

This presentation explores a Lidar-camera based real-time mapping and object detection workflow using MATLAB. Leveraging MATLAB’s advanced toolboxes and functions, we develop a system that integrates Lidar data and camera images to construct detailed environmental maps and accurately identify objects. The approach combines Lidar’s spatial accuracy with the camera’s texture and color information, enabling effective 3D reconstruction and object classification. Experimental results demonstrate the system’s capability in diverse environments, highlighting the benefits of sensor fusion for enhanced performance in autonomous navigation tasks.

2. Integrating Predictive Maintenance in Industrial Automation Systems

Gyula Peter Geszti, Application Engineer at SciEngineer

Session description:

This presentation will explore the integration of predictive maintenance within industrial automation systems. This will include an outline for specific energy sector systems. We will discuss the core principles and methodologies, including real-time data monitoring, predictive algorithms, and seamlessly incorporating these technologies into existing automation frameworks. I will highlight the critical role of predictive maintenance in improving energy efficiency and sustainability. By ensuring the optimal performance of critical assets, energy companies can significantly reduce energy consumption and emissions, aligning with global sustainability goals. The presentation aims to equip industry professionals with a comprehensive understanding of predictive maintenance and its transformative potential in industrial automation and energy management.
