Automotive Testing in CI/CD with Speedgoat

Automotive teams have long treated testing as a downstream activity — something to prove designs correct after they’re built. But git-based development, CI/CD pipelines, and increasingly complex software content are pushing verification and validation to happen continuously, at the same pace as development itself.

In this workshop, we show how Model-Based Design connects development and testing into one continuous workflow. Using MATLAB and Simulink, attendees will see how a Highway Lane Following controller is developed, verified, and taken from a laptop, through Hardware-in-the-Loop testing on a Speedgoat real-time target, and into an automated CI/CD pipeline triggered by every git push.

Through live demonstrations, participants will see how Model Advisor supports static model inspection compliant with ISO 26262, how Simulink Test can prove requirements-based scenario test execution and how the Process Advisor turn these into repeatable CI/CD jobs  — reducing manual re-testing effort every time a model changes.

Why attend?

This workshop provides a practical introduction to closing the gap between automotive software development and its verification, using Model-Based Design. Participants will learn how to build and tune a Highway Lane Following controller with Model-Predictive Control, connect Hardware-in-the-Loop testing to a git-based CI/CD pipeline, and apply Model Advisor checks against ISO 26262, MISRA, and AUTOSAR guidelines. The session will demonstrate how a single Simulink model can move from a laptop, through a Speedgoat real-time target, into an automated pipeline that runs every time code is pushed.

Agenda

  • Introduction: the current automotive industry challenges
  • Controller design: a Model-Predictive Control for a Highway Lane Following system
  • Plant modelling with Vehicle Dynamics Blockset
  • Verification activities for static checking and dynamic tests
  • Adding Speedgoat target to a CI/CD pipeline for Hardware-in-the-Loop testing
  • Takeaways and the scale-up challenge

Who should attend?

This workshop is intended for professionals involved in the development, verification, and validation of automotive and other embedded control systems, including control engineers, software engineers, verification and validation engineers, test engineers, DevOps and CI/CD engineers, functional safety engineers, and Model-Based Design practitioners working on ADAS, vehicle dynamics, powertrain, or other embedded systems.
