The job

Do you automate even the smallest repetitive tasks that land on your table?

Have you ever fixed a bug, broken three features, and called it a “refactor”?

Have you ever created a new branch just to avoid dealing with the mess in the current one?

If your answer is yes to one of the above questions, we have a position for you.

We are seeking an experienced, proactive individual to articulate the benefits of MathWorks products and services. As an Application Engineer you will share the benefits of MATLAB and Software development workflows, you will debate with other industry experts and support teams who are just getting started with MathWorks toolchains.

Furthermore, you will act as a link between us, our partner organizations, and our user community. You will collaborate with the SciEngineer team, including Sales, Marketing, and other Customer-Facing Engineers, to demonstrate the benefits of including MATLAB in the customer’s process of designing, developing, and deploying a solution.

The daily routine:

• Engage with our partners to understand their project goals and recommend effective technical solutions
• Develop and present proofs-of-concept in MATLAB and Simulink to prospective partners to demonstrate how the software would satisfy their project requirements
• Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations that build awareness of the capabilities and value of our products and services
• Manage product evaluations and guide partners to adopt our solutions
• Partner with Marketing to create compelling examples of MATLAB and Simulink in action for awareness-building events
• Build long-term relationships with strategic users of MATLAB and Simulink to ensure their continued success
• Partner with Sales to serve as a trusted advisor to key customers, helping to address their critical technology and business issues while supporting our business opportunities
• Cooperate with Customer-Facing Engineers in providing additional services to our partners, including tailored solutions in consulting, classroom lectures at training, and expert assistance in technical support
• Never stop learning. Keep up with industry trends, product developments, and deepen and expand your knowledge in a plethora of application areas.

The essentials:

• A bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of professional work experience (or a master’s degree and 3+ years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
• Work experience using MATLAB – Software Development workflows & application deployment
• Must be eligible and be willing to work from our office in Budapest, Hungary
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
• Good presentation and communication skills
• Team player attitude

This is a full-time (100%) position based in our Budapest office and may include travel to our Customers in regional countries (25-40%), offering the chance to work with top-tier experts and make a real impact in the world of engineering innovation.
